Jay Taylor

Jay graduated from Christ School in Arden, NC in 1990.  He spent the next four years at Presbyterian College, in Clinton, SC, where he earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration.

Jay joined Kinghorn Insurance Agency of Beaufort in July 1995.  He has been part of the commercial team, where he became the manager in 2000.  He earned his Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) designation in 2003, and in 2004, was asked to become a partner in the firm. Jay is now the senior managing partner for the agency.  

He is married to Megan Taylor, of Beaufort, and have 2 wonderful children, Katherine and Langdon. Jay's family attends The Parish Church of St. Helena. He has been an active Rotarian with The Rotary Club of Beaufort for over 20 years where he was a board member for 15 years. Jay has also been very active with the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of SC serving in a number of capacities which include chairing multiple committees, Secretary, Treasurer, Chairman of the Board, and currently as the State National Director. He has been a member of and chaired agent's advisory councils for Selective Insurance Company, State Auto, Nationwide Insurance, and SageSure. He is also a past board member for the Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce as well as Beaufort Academy.  He continues to volunteer with the Northern Beaufort County United Way Annual Fund.

Jay enjoys being outdoors, hobby farming, boating and spending time at the Whammy Bar.
